A licensed medical professional or mental health practitioner can issue an "ESA Letter" to people who need their animal for their mental and emotional health.

The advantages of having a certified ESA Letter are many:

• Housing cannot be denied to you based on your animal. Rental unit rules prohibiting animals can't prevent you from having your animal with you by law. They also cannot charge you additional deposits or fees for the animal.
• Airlines must accommodate passengers traveling with an Emotional Support Animal, and may not charge them extra fees for transporting them.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE?

After an assessment by a medical professional, you will be given an ESA Letter certifying that you have a mental or emotional condition that requires the need for an Emotional Support Animal. This letter can be used for "no-pet" housing and airline travel, as well as a variety of other circumstances.
